" Yippee Ki Yay, Mother......" . This Monday, we're back at the movies, movie quotes to be exact. "It's a dangerous business, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no telling where you might be swept off to", so, "Fasten your seat belts, it's going to be a bumpy night"
If you're thinking, "I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore", you'd be exactly right. I moved. To Oshawa, affectionately know as the 'Schwa. I took the plunge and moved to the 'burbs. Didn't know the area, don't really know anyone out here, was more than a little apprehensive having been a downtown boy for soooooo many years. But you know, I love it here. "It's a great thing when you realize you still have the ability to surprise yourself". "Don't ever let somebody tell you...You can't do something." Let me show you around.
Come on in, grab a seat, relax a little in the living room. We can have a chat. Well, you know what they say: if you don't have anything nice to say about anybody, come sit by me!
Here's the side view of the living room. Looks like the mirror is not going to say. We're thinking gas fire place on the feature wall. Big built in mantle. Yes?If you're thinking, "I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore", you'd be exactly right. I moved. To Oshawa, affectionately know as the 'Schwa. I took the plunge and moved to the 'burbs. Didn't know the area, don't really know anyone out here, was more than a little apprehensive having been a downtown boy for soooooo many years. But you know, I love it here. From the couch in the living room, you can see to the kitchen. There are very few full walls in the new house.
"Gimme some sugar, baby."
Sure if you've got the arms of an orangutan.
Who builds out cupboards to the depth of the fridge?
Now I know you're all jealous of my custom built kitchen, but... "There's three ways to do things, the right way, the wrong way and the way that I do it." This is a recurring theme in the house. I'm not sure who the DIYer was. “ I appreciate it, but I don't accept it. ”
"But you are, Blanche! You are in that chair! ”
Thanks for the tour! I love the wide windowsills you have the plants on, and the tub and the black and white kitchen! As for the attic, I hope you are able to find an old forgotten treasure up there!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. I do really love the place. Wait until I get started on the renos!
DeleteWow you did this Listicle well! Congratulations on your new house. So adorable, but 11 outlets? That's crazy. And that is A LOT of junk.Is there a window to throw it out of? :) Thanks you for the complete tour! Ellen
ReplyDeleteThanks Ellen. I know, who can mange with 11 outlets on three floors? Not me. No attic window to make things easier. I can't figure why they bothered to put all that stuff up there in the first place.
DeleteHa! I love how you did this list! Very clever:)
ReplyDeleteI had a lot of fun doing it too. Thanks Bridget.
DeleteLove how you did this. Congratulations. Love your house. Kitchen is awsome and the bathtub! Oh my!!! So happy for you!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Stasha. It kind of got away from me. I'm deliriously happy here.
DeleteI cannot believe how many quotes you got in there!! and how many I actually know - Holy misspent youth batgirl!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and it all looks like it is coming together nicely -- if not electrically HA! So glad you gave us a tour.
House party?
Toga, Toga, Toga ;)
Thanks Rory. Went just a bit overboard there. A little AH right back at ya, "Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son" LOL
DeleteYes, "I'll think about that tomorrow" should be the mantra of anyone who buys an old home. Which are the only ones we have ever bought. Much to my husbands chagrin. I really get the lack of outlets thing. Don't ever want to think about extension cords being a fire hazard. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteLOL, that quote has run through my mind far too often in the last few weeks. Thanks Jaimie
DeleteThat is SO awesome! I absolutely LOVE the original way you did this Listicle. I knew a ton of the quotes, but not all of them...I think there should be a guide at the end! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks, I didn't realise just how many I had packed in here. I promise I'll get a key together.
DeleteNow that...is how you do a listicle right! Well played, well played.
ReplyDeleteLOL. thanks Wayne.
DeleteHow very creative of you! I want that bathtub.
ReplyDeleteI know a few but of these not all. Where is the answer key? ;)
Thanks Diane. I love that tub and I have to say it is remarkable shape for an original cast iron one. I promise to get a key together.
DeleteGreat way to do listicles!!! I loved the tour and I am so jealous of your bathtub!!!
ReplyDeleteAudrey, I can not lie, that tub is heaven to soak in. LOL
DeleteThis had me cracking up! Love it! "Party on Garth!"
ReplyDeleteThanks Julia, Schwing.
DeleteHats off to you! Most creative list posted!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ducky, stop, you'll make me blush. ROFL
DeleteLove your take on this! I'm a little slow, so it took me to the Napoleon Dynamite to grasp what you were doing. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteLOL, it's Monday that's allowed. thought I just had a problem with my bolding?
DeleteI really like the way you incorporated all of your quotes - you picked some great ones! Congratulations on your new house. I will also add my admiration for the bathtub!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim. The tub, bliss.
DeleteWonderful list! Now you left me hanging. Who said, ""There's three ways to do things, the right way, the wrong way and the way that I do it." That is totally my motto - I want to see the movie.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kenya. It's Robert DeNiro from Casino.
DeleteOk, this was, by far, my favorite take on the listicles. Fandamntastic job on this! I am still working on a couple of the quotes--might have to call DD3 who is our movie buff...I don't think there's ever been a movie made that she cannot quote word-for-word. Well done!
ReplyDeleteAGREED! This was a great one!
DeleteThanks, I had a blast putting it together.
DeleteHOLY MOLY I LOVE THIS POST! Talk about clever. I'm in awe. Love the lines love the house love the yard! PARTY bbq garden dinners...I see it all! Is that your bike? What about the turquoise baby bed frame in the attic!
ReplyDeleteby the way I don't know "I appreciate it, but I don't accept it." what is it from? I want to use it often....and often as in daily and possibly hourly to my students, kids, husband! Love this site, so glad I found Stash which lead me here!
ROFL, thanks Kerry. I had so much fun putting this all together. The bikes are mine, there are three bed frames in the attic, not mine and I can hardly wait until summer to get out on the deck and in the yard.
DeleteThe quote is Humphrey Bogart from Casablanca.
Isn't Stasha's a great place to hang out and meet new people?
I absolutely LOVE your new home!!! What character! Great List too!
ReplyDeletePS...sorry about all the !!!! I'm an excitable type! :D
Thanks, I'm pretty excited about the new place myself!!
DeleteVery creative approach to the movie moments challenge. Lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lori, I can't tell you the chuckles I had putting it together.
